There was light shining directly into my eyes as I opened them once again. I turned my head to avoid the direct sunlight, and inadvertently turned towards the flesh mound’s corpse, which was now browned with dried blood. As was I. I sat up, my clothes stiff from the blood. Flakes of it fell from my face and arms. I no longer hurt the way I did before I had passed out, though my leg was still in immense pain, and my head had started to ache as well. The world around me was a bit tilted but I still managed to stand. The sun seemed as though it hadn’t moved at all, and the blood had dried, which led me to guess I had been unconscious for about an entire day.
I bent down and picked up the iron weapon, or whatever it was, and looked at it. It was still as shiny as it was last time I saw it. The clothes I was wearing involved pockets along with the jeans, so I placed it in there, long end first. Then I thought about it going off again… though I didn’t move it. I looked around, seeing a large building to my right and the hole in the wood walling to my left, and a small housing that by process of elimination, must have been where I woke up. It sat in a sort of divot in the grass, so water pooled around it.
I decided to check out the building before anything else. I went to a window and looked inside, seeing many unfamiliar objects, none of which I needed. I decided to abandon that idea. I turned around and headed to the hole in the wooden wall. I had to duck down to fit properly.
On the other side was a long black strip of stone and many metal poles on each side, running along the whole length of the strip. There were many buildings along this stone strip, with gray stone leading to each one. As confusing as the scene was, I had to advance to… to uh…
My stomach growled just then, distracting me from my thoughts. I was starving, now that I thought about it. Thirsty too. I needed supplies, and quick. I looked around, seeing metal constructs askew here and there. I walked over to one.
It was colored a deep red, shiny and welcoming. I looked into one of the glass-things on the long side, seeing many trinkets and what looked like water in a clear container. I looked for a way to enter this large, metal, red thing. Eventually I gave up on polite entrances and pulled my iron L from my pocket, pointing the long end towards the glass. I placed my finger on the clicker and pulled, my face wincing in preparation, but nothing happened… I kept clicking. I waited for one click to be more successful than the last, but nothing. The rotator did however move each time, and while trying to understand things, I discovered there were openings in the rotator. I counted 6 in all, and all empty. Maybe I needed to place something into these chambers to make it work? Now I had two missions.
I refocused myself to the situation at hand and was getting irritated, so I lifted my iron L above my head and brought it down upon the glass with a crash and a shattering sound that echoed for a while, and then subsided. I reached into the shiny thing and grasped the water container with my right hand, which made a crinkle sound when grasped. I pulled it out, and noticed fresh blood on my sleeve, which came from multiple cuts on my upper arm. I looked at the shards of glass still in tact with the shiny thing and noticed droplets of blood. I felt no pain, and was severely confused as to why. I ignored it. There was a twisting lid on the water. I twisted it the wrong way at first, and then the correct way, opened it, and drank feverishly. I gasped for air and sat in the shade the shiny thing provided. I still had about half of the water, but it would not last long.
I was sitting in front of one of the stone paths that led to a building. This was truly weird architecture. I saw to the right of the building what looked to be a metal stick, but thicker. I stood, finished the water and left it on the stone floor. I walked over to the building’s side and looked at the metal pole. It was painted green, with shapes on it and a thinner end at the bottom, wrapped in black leather. I picked it up. It was decently weighted for how it looked, and I suspected it was hollow as I tapped my iron L on it. I placed my L in my left pocket and picked up the pole. It felt better in both my hands than with just one. I decided to keep it.
I was finished here. I needed food now. I walked down the black strip for a while until I saw something moving. An animal. Perfect.
It was no animal I had ever seen before. It was almost like a deer, but it didn’t have antlers, instead, it had vines, growing out and downward, touching the ground. Its fur almost looked like moss around the base of the vines and all around its head. It was slightly marvelous to see, and I was totally grasped by the subsequent beauty. It looked like it didn’t have ears any more, as this was now just moss. I walked slowly, staying out of its view. I was feet away from it, watching as it ate grass in front of a building. I lifted my weapon above my head, building up strength for a painless kill, when it turned its head to look right at me. I stopped immediately, constricted by its eyes… they were green, a green deeper than the grass it ate, a more sublime green than the green on the pole I wielded, more enticing than the water I retrieved, and more filling than the food I could’ve eaten from this animal. They seemed to glow in the wake of the dawn. It didn’t cringe. It didn’t run… it starred. It’s nose was speckled green and black, and it only made the green from its eyes much more miraculous. I lowered my pole… knowing I couldn’t have finished this deer off. It looked at my hands while I lowered them, and seemed to notice my uncontrollable recall of action. It took a couple of steps towards me, and sniffed me. I smelt like iron, like blood, and yet it moved its muzzle to my left hand and licked it, cleaning my hand of the dried blood. As mesmerized as I was, it was also calming and confusing to see it so close to me, licking blood from my hand. I slowly placed my hand on its furry moss like face and started petting it. It was accepting of me, just as I was accepting of it. It was soft, as soft as moss would be, but long like fur was, and a beautiful shade of green. It started to lick up my arm to the punctures in my arm, licking the blood from them. They seemed to stop bleeding almost instantly.
The thick cords of nature seemed to be rising upwards with every passing second, growing small buds as the tendrils rise ever higher. I stared in absolute shocked perception as the deer’s vines rose to full fruition, about two people high, crossing each other at the end lengths, while buds of some blossom popped from each end of the sub vines that grew along with each main vine, sprouting a spectacular contrast of both unspeakable green and unfathomable purple and white. As this happened, my hand hadn’t moved from the deer’s soft moss, and I instinctively started to pet this marvelous creature while looking upwards at the beauty of nature unfolding before me. Time slipped away, and before long, I was sitting with the deer next to me, laying its head against my leg.
The sun was slipping over the horizon, creating a glow from the deer and its vines, but over anything, you could see those absolutely admirable green eyes pierce through the musk of the twilight’s final moments. I lied down in the grass, the deer unmoving, and with my left hand still on the deer, I watched as my eyelids constricted around the green and golden glow of the scene around me, and I fell into a peaceful slumber.

I lied down in the grass, the deer unmoving, and with my left hand still on the deer, I watched as my eyelids constricted around the green and golden glow of the scene around me, and I fell into a peaceful slumber.
My eyelids were still heavy when I opened them again. My eyes were foggy, and hurt when I started looking around. I was still where I was last night, limbs sprawled on the grass. I was staring into the purple abyss that was the early morning skies, void of clouds and stars. The only other thing I could see was the moon, which was slightly translucent and small in the skies above.
I stared into the sky for a long time, watching it change from the purple I had awoken to, to a now subtle orange and blue, with the suns rays peeking out from somewhere, shining on my face.
I felt sore. My stomach was in pain, and getting worse as time went on. I decided it was time to get up and find food. As I tried to sit up, my body rejected this action and pushed me back down to the grass. My body had given up on me, it seemed, being prolonged with hunger and pain. I lied there even longer, maybe another hour, just staring into the blue of the sky. My mind was as numb as my body had become.
Then a sharp, unnatural sound broke through my mental and physical silence, piercing my ears, reawakening me from the blackness that my state of mind was falling into. The sun was shining into my eyes now, making everything a light blue when I opened my eyelids. I could hear steps; animal steps and what sounded like stone on stone…
A small bark? A gargled bark, then a small spitting noise. I looked left and right, but saw only wood walls and a metal constructs to the right, and the sun to my left. There was a yip. My skin started to crawl, and I was getting scared. I closed my eyes and placed my hands near my head and pushed with all my might, now able to sit up. I was sore all over again, silver speckles floating in my eyes, grabbing blindly for my metal pole.
When my eyes cleared I saw nothing, and only heard small clops from every direction. I placed my feet under me and stood, dizzy, but balanced. I lifted my left finger into my ear and scratched it, hopefully clearing it of those sounds which could have possibly been delusions made up by my depraved subconscious. I looked around, seeing long shadows stretched from the building and constructs, and the gray clouds looming from far in the east. I started walking, which was difficult, but I managed to walk over to the building closest. I couldn’t care any more, so I gained enough strength to throw my pole towards the glass, shattering it. I staggered, but continued.

I staggered, but continued.
I lifted my legs over the broken glass and let myself into the building. I felt shards crack under my weight and heard them shift as I walked forward. I wasted no time and immediately started to look for sustenance. I saw many unrecognized objects and trinkets all along the walls and floor. There were colored cubes on the floor nearby what looked like a piece of carved wood meant for sitting. Each cube had the picture of an animal carved into it. I payed them little attention, as I saw something on the sitting wood; what looked to be a long brown bar. I walked over to it and picked it up, bringing it to my face. It smelled sweet, and I unconsciously took a bite out of it. My body trembled at the sweet explosion and relief that came from my mouth. I couldn’t distinguish specific tastes, as the bar was gone in an instant. There were some melted remnants on my fingers, of which I quickly licked off my salty fingers. I stood mesmerized by the flavor and recent occurrence for a short while, then resumed to search. I had left my pole behind on the pile of glass and I hadn’t noticed until I had walked into another section of the house. By then any want for it had left and I was left with just the need for more food. The room I walked into had white floors, and weird cliff like walls on the walls. These cliffs had many foreign things on them. One of them being a basket with bread in it. I staggered over to the basket and started to hungrily consume the bread, which was slightly sweet and very hard. It must have been sitting there for quite sometime. As soon as I finished off the entire basket, my mouth started to feel extremely dry. I had hardly enough saliva to chew and swallow the last of the bits. They hurt going down. I turned around, looking for some possible water. I coughed, and as I placed my hand over my mouth, blood came out. I must’ve scratched my throat with the hard bread. I couldn’t find any water however. I spent the next 20 minutes or so searching for anything drinkable, and found nothing. There was a part of the house where a white bowl like thing contained water, but it was thick and yellow. I avoided it.
I decided to leave the house, the same way I had come in. On my way there, I walked into the bread room and saw what looked like a thin metal cutting tool sitting on the counter. There was a small sliver of blood on the tip. I walked over to it and picked it up, and ran the thinnest edge along my palm. It severed the flesh.
Placing it into my right hand, I left the building. The sun was just in the middle of the sky when I stepped out onto the grass. I surveyed the world around me, seeing only what was there before… Except there was something slightly moving. It was… A dog? Or… another flesh thing? What the hell..?
I stood there, armed, and watched as a dog shaped flesh thing breathed and stared at me. It started walking towards me. I flinched, and just watched. It didn’t hesitate once, just walked smoothly onto the stone path leading to the building. I regained my composer and clutched my weapon hard, readied. My jaw dropped as it came within feet from me and stood there, panting.
It had no eyes. Just sockets, dripping a darker than blood ooze. There was no hair or fur on its body, so you could see the bones and veins it had. It was almost transparent, it seemed. I looked back at the head, realizing that it had no ears, just holes in its skull and flesh. Its tongue, which hung limply from its horrid jaws, was black. The teeth in its mouth were broken, just fragments, here and there… and in some places it wasn’t a tooth or a piece of tooth at all, it was glass. It tapped its foot, as if wanting me to play, forcing me to look at its feet. There were no feet however. Where its feet were supposed to be were what looked to be bones, jutting out of the tips of the ankles and separating into two different pieces. It looked like a birds wingspan if its wings were in the downward motion while it was flying. In the front, though, they were thinner, and the backs were thick. The tail it had was almost like a whip, all skin and muscles. The poor beast seemed happy, but I couldn’t even imagine its true anguish. The tail wagged as it stood and made a gargled yip at me. It mad me a bit sad. I figured it had been the creature from this morning, because of its yip. I started to talk a step away from it, but it whined, and dipped its head. I felt it pulling at my heartstrings… and I let it pull me in. I felt bad. It was probably alone in this empty and desolately sickened world. I walked to it slowly, and reached my left hand out, wanting to at least feel it. It moved its head to sniff me, sniffing intensely. It moved its head in a way where my hand was forced along its skin. I shivered as my hand went over its skin… it was slick, and oily, and felt rough… I continued however, wanting to see this animal type thing be happy.
Clops could be heard around me now, filling my ears. I looked around, seeing a large amount of identical creatures now pacing around me, all of them panting, just about twenty or thirty of them. I was frozen now. I moved my eyes, but not my head towards the dog creature in front of me. It seemed to smile at me. Then it jumped. It placed its front bones on my chest and tried to nip my face, reeling me away from its jaws grasp, but that was what it wanted, as it pushed me back with its bones. I fell hard onto the stone ground, hitting my head. I was seeing gray shapes in my vision, along with approaching monsters, smiling and heaving.
I still had my metal weapon. I slashed at the nearest one, cutting its nose pretty deep, seeing its blood hit the ground. It gargled and reared back, causing the others to stop and stare at it. It was almost screaming in pain, when it looked up at me and within a second, charged, I had managed to climb to my knees, and re-prepared my self. It was fast though, too fast for me. It didn’t bite me, it tackled me, charging its body into my neck at full speed, knocking me to the ground and rolling onto my back. I couldn’t breath right, and I could hardly keep the weapon in my hand, the monster seemed to knock himself unconscious with his last attack as he rolled and hit the metal construct before going limp. That or he died.
I had no time to stand, as they began swarming me. I was a threat to them, so they attacked me, biting me, my legs and arms, some went for my face and neck, but I knocked them in the face with my face, so they would back off. It was intensely painful, feeling teeth and bones and glass rip into my flesh. I was seeing red now, a thick sensation grew in me, similar to the one I felt with the flesh monsters attack. Time seemed to slow down as I kicked and punched my way to my feet, seeing injured creatures here and there, but ultimately seeing them yip and bite at me.
I was standing, so I had the upper ground for defense, and whenever a monster came at me, I threw my arm across my body, slicing at anything, cutting many that came towards me deep enough to watch them die before they hit the ground. I was getting a sick pleasure seeing them hit the ground, and seeing the others hear their friends die. I was making a path out of the circle they had made around me, when they went for my back. I twisted my wrist and thrusted it back into the monster behind me, feeling it drop off my body. I saw an opening to my right, and I took it. I kicked one trying to block me in again, hurting my shin on its skull. I was sprinting now, down the stone path, dodging metal constructs that riddled the streets. I could hear them, clop clop clop, running hard towards me. I ran past a construct, seeing one of them climb it next to me, breaking glass, and watched as it jumped from the construct, towards me. I made a hard right and watched to roll and yip behind me. I also saw an entire flood of them running towards me. This was more than thirty…
I saw no way out of this, as they were biting my ankles as I slowed from exhaustion. One bit so hard on my calf I tripped and rolled with it clinged to me, rolling it into a wood wall, and seeing its blood splatter against it. I was corned now, they were everywhere. I sat, bloodied and beyond hurting. I was breathing harder than I could ever remember before, and couldn’t lift my arm to fight back. There was one that came up to me and started biting my left arm, and as soon as it started, I had started screaming in anguish. The others started to join him… I couldn’t stand the pain anymore… I was requesting death at that very moment.
Suddenly, they one by one stopped. I was hardly paying attention, as I could barely see anymore. It was all going dark. What I did see was them one by one start walking towards the sun, which was setting. They left me to die mercilessly. I had to focus on breathing to remain breathing, and I still couldn’t move. I would probably die of blood loss before shortage of air, however.
I blinked, and my vision focused on the sunset. It was absolutely stunning to see from this angle. I slowed my breathing a bit. I watched as its slivers of light ran across my blood soaked legs. I blinked once more, and saw another light, more focused and tiny, running across my chest. It seemed to get closer, and was shaky. I blinked, but never raised my eyelids. I let what I thought would be death take me from this. I let my breathing continue as my body relaxed… and I let darkness envelope me again.
I decided to leave the house, the same way I had come in. On my way there, I walked into the bread room and saw what looked like a thin metal cutting tool sitting on the counter.
I woke up dead. I was awake, but a corpse… I mean I opened my eyes, but not for real. Because I was dead. I had sat there and died, I had bled out. Except I wasn’t in the same place I had died. I was somewhere else now, looking at darkness again. Was I back where I had started out? How the hell would I have gotten there? There was a clatter like sound to my left.
I instantly turned my head, which surprised me at first… seeing as I should be dead. But I wasn’t… I was very much alive. Although I could now feel the extreme pain that was dormant inside and outside of me. It was enough to make my cringe with every movement. I was looking at what looked like light or lights from farther away. I blinked in pain and tried to move around, which made me want to nearly cry. I had somehow survived a brutal attack from a sea of merciless monsters, and I had no idea how. I was warm for what was such a dark environment. I felt very comfortable as well, like I was wrapped up and was laying on something soft. I was somehow a bit relaxed… I heard the clattering sound again.
I didn’t look this time but instead I tried moved my left arm around as best I could, even if it felt like my arm was on fire. I couldn’t feel anything however, as my arm felt like it was wrapped up in something tight. I felt almost like I was wrapped up…
There was a sudden stream of light that protruded from where the other lights were, and the sound of steps. They sounded light, but heavy at the same time. Then a dark figure came into view, an almost human figure. I saw it coming this way, but I couldn’t prepare… my body wouldn’t allow any movement without immense pain. I heard it very close now, perhaps within the room. Maybe they were trying to-
There was suddenly light! It shined right into my eyes, blinding me for a second. I blinked furiously, trying to readjust my eyes. When my eyes had cleared, I saw it – her. It was a girl. A normal looking girl. She was looking at a small… thing in her hands, which made he face even brighter. Her black hair was blocking most of it. She set it down on a flat wood surface near her and looked at me. Her eyes… They weren’t green, but more like… The eyes from that deer I saw… a green more valuable and glimmering than any green prior to them. Her eyes grew as she looked at me, obviously surprised to see me.
“Holy shit you’re awake!” she breathed, covering her mouth. Her eyes still wide, I couldn’t say a word without it hurting. “Holy shit… I’m sorry, I’m just surprised to see that you’re… well, alive!” she moved her hands. I was staring right into her eyes. I couldn’t look away. “Oh! By the way… are you okay?” I tried to move my head, but failed. “I mean, you’ve been lying here for a couple of days, and this is the first time I’ve seen you open your eyes… Can you speak?” I looked down at her shirt, which had a picture of what looked like a yellow mouse with pointy ears and dried blood on it. I blinked.
She tilted her head a little. “I didn’t think so. You had a lot bite marks and cuts on your neck. You shouldn’t say anything now, you might really hurt yourself.” She reached into her pocket and pulled out one of the clear containers of water. “I’ve been waiting until you woke up so I could give you some water… you really look like you need it.” She walked over to me and sat on whatever it was that I was on. “Here, can you open your mouth?” I had hardly noticed anything that was happening. I had been tranced by her voice… gentle and strong. It was almost perfect just for her. And her eyes… like little pools of green stars…
She was looking at me now, the mouth of the container pointed towards my face. I forced myself to open my mouth. I felt ice-cold waves hit my swollen tongue, bringing relief into my body. Then I swallowed. The pain had made me choke on it a little, causing a small coughing fit, which only hurt more. “Slow down, there’s enough water for you, you don’t have to suck it all down at once.” She was smiling now… it was nice… I blinked and swallowed again. My throat was feeling better, still hurting, but much better than before. I was trying to think of what to say, but only thought of questions. I decided to ask her some things.
“Uhm,” I mumbled.
“Oh?” She looked at me again, her hands still wrapped around the container.
“Who… are you…?” I worked to ask, wanting to know the name behind the gorgeous face. Before now I hadn’t really known my voice very well… it was extremely raspy and felt like I was whispering.
“Well…” she hesitated, moving her right hand over her left arm. “Eva. My name is Eva.”
Eva… it was befitting of her. “What about yours?” she asked. This was a question I did not have the answer to. I tried to think… but I had no name I knew of.
“I… do not… know…” I managed. Her eyebrows went upwards, her right hand was now flat against what I was lying on.
“How do you not know your own name?” I blinked to her. She moved her hands towards my head, looking at it. I felt her move my hair and felt her poke around my scalp. “Did you have this deep cut before the other day?” her question brought back the memory of the flesh protrusion from the right side of my head, next to the temple. I shook my head slightly.
She reached behind her, her hands out of view. She brought them back with a role of what looked like cloth. She lifted my head and unrolled the cloth around my head several times. It hurt, but I kept calm while she did this. When she finished she placed my head back down, my head sank into something soft.
“Are you feeling better?” she asked me, looking into my eyes. I flinched, and stuttered my words as I tried to mouth the word “yes”. She smiled and stood up. “I’m going to go grab you some food, do you think you can manage some solid food?” I looked at her and nodded my head. She walked back towards the lights. I watched as her silhouette disappeared around the corner.

I watched as her silhouette disappeared around the corner.
She returned with a… food. I didn’t know what it was exactly, but it looked delicious. It was in some kind of shiny half circle, and when she put it down, the smell of it engulfed the room. It was faint at all times, but always there, filling my nostrils. I was starting to salivate intensely.
“What… is that..?” I asked her, through a rasp and a slight cough. She was looking at that thing that made her face light up again, but when she heard my voice, the light stopped and she looked at me. She set the thing down and sat next to me, the ground wavering a bit, just like it had the last time she sat.
“It’s Instant Ramen, it’s one of the few things that won’t go bad as long as we have water.” she lifted the half circle and used what looked like a metallic pronged tool to lift up some of the food. I was staring intensely. “Do you mind if we share?” she asked me, looking into my eyes again. I shook my head slightly. She lifted some of the food into her mouth and started to eat. She then took another amount of food and brought it to my mouth. I opened my mouth and let the long pieces touch my tongue. I started to eat at a decent rate with Eva.
After we had finished that meal, she gave me more water from the container. “Don’t worry; we have a lot more bottles in the other room.” Bottles? Is that what these were? A bottle of water… I finished a ‘bottle’ and started to relax. She took the bottle and half circle into what she called the other room. When she returned, she had more cloth.
“It’s been a while since you’ve had your bandages changed, do you mind if try changing some of them?” I did not know what a bandage was, but I nodded anyway. She reached over to me and lifted a cloth cover off of me. I hadn’t even seen it on me… I also saw multiple pieces of cloth wrapped around most of my entire body, bloodied and most dried. I was shocked, and was now understanding why I felt so constricted.
“Yeah, you were a complete mess… you looked like you’d been ripped to shreds. I’m actually really surprised to see you’re still alive… you were as pale as the bandages almost. I spent all of the night putting them on, closing wounds… I don’t even have any medical experience; I just went off of instinct…” she was staring down at her hands as she said this. I started feeling bad for this girl. She had almost lost her innocence and strength because I had almost died. I lifted my ‘bandage’ hand over to her and placed it in hers. She lifted her eyes to look at me.
“Thank… you.” I muttered. Her eyes began to tear up and she started to sob. I couldn’t do anything except watch as her tears fell onto my bandage hand. She stood up and walked over to where there were more white looking things. She pulled a flimsy square of it out and wiped the tears from her face.
“Hey… it’s almost morning. I’m going to go ahead and prepare some food for the day and lock up the house… I’ll be right back, okay?” she was in the wooden frame of this… room? And had her hand placed against it. I was sure ‘okay’ meant she was confirming with me, so I nodded.
The next moment she was gone. She had spent much time with me, saved me, and given me sustenance. I had no clue who she was, but I knew I could trust her. I felt like my eyelids were being weighed down, and before I knew it, I had been covered in slumber.

*new* -v
I awoke to the sound of Eva crashing through the room and shaking me to wake up.
"Wake up! They..." she coughed. "They're outside, I can hear them bashing and scratching the door!" She was walking around frantically, her eyes wide and seemingly full of terror.
"Eva..." I called to her. She seemed to slow down and stare at me. She came over to me and kneeled down. She was crying.
"I'm scared... I don't want you to die... I don't want to die..." she was crying. There were no other words to describe the sullen yet through onset of her pink face set ablaze with true passion for life and security. Her tears made me sad.
I reached my right arm,the slightly harmed one and reached over to my left hand, which was completely bandaged. I had kept a secret from Eva. I began to unravel the browned cloth from my sticky skin, feeling the air made my hand feel wet. All my hand was now was very sore and a bit dirty. I remember it hurt the most when I had first awoken.
I placed my hand on the very top of Eva's head, feeling her har, soft and straight, black, and the faint whiff of an uknown, yet homely smell. She looked up from her sobbing to see past my arm and it on my eyes. I smiled at her, smiled because her pink face and slightly teared up cheeks were beyond my words.
"Eva." I spoke, finally hearing my voice. My voice felt thick in my throat and light on my tongue.
She looked at me, still, and with eyes full of tears, with her hands full of crumpled bandage, with her breathing short and sweet,
"I promise to save us."
She lost it. She started crying beyond what I'd seen thus far. I could do nothing but let her bawl as tears rolled down my cheeks. She was digging her nails into the palm of my hand, but it felt overwhelmingly relieving. Through her tears, she tried to speak.
"Your... your hand... I could've sworn it was past... past recovery..." she sobbed to me. She kept looking at it. There wasn't even a single scratch left on my hand, it had become scars and dried blood. She wiped her face with her sleeves and began to get up. I moved my hand to my chest and sat up. "How are we going to do this? We don't have anything to protect ourselves..." she trailed off as she said that. She looked back to me. "I think I have something!" She said and started to walk out of the room. I nodded and let her go. I waited not too long before I saw her coming back. She immediately came over to me. Whatever she had was long and seemingly heavy as she needed both hands to carry it. She placed it down near my feet.
I was starting to try and uncover myself and stand, when I noticed that the rest of my entire body still hurt. A lot. I didn't show my pain though. I stood for the first time in days. I was having a bit of trouble, but I did manage, and I was able to walk around the room as Eva watched with a smile. She reached for the thing she brought.
"I found this on the wall in one of the rooms, I don't know if it's real, but it's all we have." She handed it to me. It was heavy, and had a handle along with a kind of rope on it to maybe carry it better? I was looking it over when I felt it give way, that is, the handle from the more blackish long end. The blackish long end fell to the floor, and the item got slightly ligher, along with the fact that the new long end was a very sharp piece of metal. It started from the handle piece and extended out.
"Do you... know what kind of sword that is?" Eva asked me.
"Sword?" I asked back. It was a new name.
"Well yeah..." she hesitated. She looked at me, lookimg confused. "What's your name..?" She randomly asked. I had no idea.
"I don't know." I answered back to her.
"Do you remember anything about yourself?" She started to look deep into my eyes, "Do you know what most if all this is in here?" She opened her arms and surveyed the room with her hands.
"I don't." I had to be honest with her. Even if I wasn't I couldn't hide the truth.
Her eyes widened, and she covered her mouth. "Oh my god. You have real life amnesia!" She told me, probably half expecting me to know what that meant. I just stared at her. "...Right. Uhm, that would be where you can't remember anything about yourself. But I don't know why you don't know what anything else is either... it must be really bad." she then touched the part of my head where a bandage covered, the place where I first felt flesh and pain. She seemed deep in thought when there was a crash from somewhere else.
They were coming in. They figured out a way in and were making progress.
I grasped up the sword in my left hand. The burning sensation was in my chest again. A thick feeling like fire in my lungs. I suddenly held my breath. Eva was far behind me now, as I had walked out of the room and was now standing before a large crack in a wood wall-type thing. I saw them out there, I saw many of them. I also saw something else. It was larger than any of the rest.
Time felt... slow. Like they were all clamoring to the crack while I took extremely important and slow breathes. I prepared my sword in my left hand. It was... Off putting. It didn't feel right. I switched hands.
There we go.
I was feeling like perfection, if it were able to be an actuality. I saw them clamoring into the now larger crack, the first one through charged towards me, flinging ooze and looking like a demon straight out of the deepest depths of the Devils mind. I was far enough from the door to have enough room for anything.
I was standing calmly, tip of the sword on the ground. I then pulled it up above me,and brought it straight down, the exact moment it was close enough. It seemed to realize it's mistake and seemed like it tried to maneuver around the strike, but to no avail. It's front leg was immediately severed, right from the shoulder part. It made a horrific screech and fell to the floor, bloody and dying. I could see its tongue flinging around, it's body convulse, and it's stub flail around, spraying blood around the floor. Within seconds, it died.
The others started making huffing sounds, like growls. They seemed to organize, because as soon as the first stopped moving completely, the others joined. Three of them at once split up and surrounded me. The first slash was excruciatingly painful on my arm and hand, but I managed. I stepped right to draw the others left to me and the right one as close and as soon as possible. This one was large. Up to my chest almost. I kept the sword pointed out,at waist height and plunged the sword into the demon's chest, and watched the tip come through the back of its lower body. The sound it made was only absolute death. I stared at the others, who instead of charging, reeled back. I lowered the point of my sword down and the ooze from the demon made it too easy to slide off my blade. The blood was dark. It was beyond red and almost maroon.
The next one came low, going for my already damaged ankles. I shoved my blade where my ankle was, after moving it, narrowly missing it's head. Instead it got a mouthful of metal. I kicked the mutt from my area and yanked the sword from the wood floor, and replaced my stature.
I could smell the blood, it was thick and thin at the same time. It slide off the blade but seemed so thick...
There was an enormous grunt, then the rest of the crack was blown into small pieces as... a hell beast walked through, covered in bloody holes and metal and wood fragments. It had a black streak all the way how it's front, while the rest of its body was covered in thick red hair, as it stood maybe two whole feet above me. It wasn't large, but thinner, hunched for the new entrance.
It had... a mouth covered on slimy strands of flesh and goop, eyes that always stared, and never blinked. It's arms were enormous and thick, fists that looked like they too were made of bone, like the feet of the mutts. The mutts were now standing, watching while this creature... this pale, red, and frothing monstrosity lumbered toward me. It's tail was immense as well, for when it walked into-
It came like a whip, interrupting my concentration I swung left to catch it or maybe stop it, but as I swung, it went down, and back towards me,sweeping my legs from underneath me.
I fell hard, on my face and my bad side, I immediately grabbed my ground, not even letting go of my sword and stood again, a giant fist awaiting me.
I could barely repel the attack, but managed to lift the blade quick enough to feel bone on metal and have my entire weight thrown down and my body blistered again. I was now laying there, hurt. I had dropped the blade, and retrieved it before I continued to fight, I tried to stand, but felt the bite of a mutt on my arm. I threw my arm to knock it away. This was not a fight for him. I looked towards the hell spawn to see a massive tail crush the mutt. Obviously the beast felt the same way. I was standing again. I couldn't take much more... my body... was on fire
"Wake up! They..." she coughed. "They're outside, I can hear them bashing and scratching the door!" She was walking around frantically, her eyes wide and seemingly full of terror.
"Eva..." I called to her. She seemed to slow down and stare at me. She came over to me and kneeled down. She was crying.

I couldn't take much more... my body... was on fire
