Welcome.
It was a flash, an awakening, that burnt through me, chilling my spine, and making my lungs ache. I couldn’t focus… any senses I had were numbed, dulled, or non-existent at this point. Vision was not an option, most for the fact that nothing could be seen. I cannot even describe it as black; it felt even darker than dark. I couldn’t hear any sound, either for the fact that sound wasn’t something for me to hear at this moment, or I just simply couldn’t hear. My body could not respond to anything, no movement other than breathing, which burned quite fierce, and the tingling sensation I felt all throughout the entirety of the lower half of my body. It seemed like I was sitting, back against a corner and my legs out. I remained in that position for however long it was, maybe an hour, until I was able to use all of my strength to lift my left arm up, and feel my face. It was difficult. It ached. There was still a small amount of feeling in my face, as I could feel the chill of my frozen fingertips upon my skin… it was overly relieving. My legs still gave no response. Within minutes I was using both arms efficiently. They had regained some feeling and warmth, it seemed. It was beyond freezing, and I was just about as frozen. An unsettling chill swept through my torso, making me feel uneasy and sick, as if I needed to vomit, but I held it in.
Ugh…
Ugh…
Upon feeling my face, I ran my fingertips over my forehead, which surprisingly had what felt like flesh protruding from the right side of my head, next to my temple. It didn't hurt to touch lightly, but I only guessed because of the numbness my entire body felt, it couldn't have been helped. I didn't dare feel the cut any deeper. It filled my entirety with fear, as I couldn't remember what it was from. My breathing didn't burn so much anymore. I was now trying to get my legs working again. I moved my now warmed up hands down to my legs, but was surprised when my hands hit the surface of what I could’ve only guessed was water. Things became clearer as I realized I was in waist deep, freezing cold water. Waist deep from a sitting position that is. The numbness was less fear inducing knowing it was because of ill-temperate water and not from other… permanent actions. The issue of immovability was still the constant of a threat as I sat there in the shallows. I couldn't exactly scoot around either. I wouldn't know where to go. My neck craned back. Looking around was useless. Except… Wait.
Light. Beams of light, right above me, or angled a bit left of that it seemed. Regardless, this was new. I counted five streams of light pouring from out of view, shining onto a possibly flat wall above me, directly above me. My body felt warmed now seeing such minuscule threads of illuminates, I felt like hope was still relevant. And possibly it was! I needed to find a way to see where the lights came from. I placed my hands in the depths around me and pushed my torso up, enough for my thighs to still be emerged, but not the rest of my lower half. This would inevitably do two things, warm my lower body, and chill my hands. It was a small uncomforting I had to face. Much time had passed, and my lower half was considerably warmed, though still cold as ice.
I sat my body back down and rubbed my cold, wet hands together, warming them. Next was moving my legs. I reached forward and grabbed my soggy, clothed ankle and pulled it forward enough to have it as close to me as possible, foot down. I then pushed myself onto my numbed leg. It hurt. I then, with one arm in the waters, pulled the other leg to me, sitting on both of them. I was hardly in the water besides my legs, and I was immensely uncomfortable. Pain, searing through my right leg, pulsating into my head.
I let time pass again, then attempted to stand, to no avail. I was falling on the left side because of my leg, flailing my arms when my hand grasped something. A pole, cold but a blessing nonetheless. I grasped it hard, keeping myself from submerging into the black waters below. I used my other arm to grasp and yank myself onto the bar. It was difficult since there was another pole above my head, but I sat above the water for another long interval of time. It felt like I woke up hours ago, and I know it most definitely had been hours.
I was now realizing the poles ascended in succession, one after the other, leading towards the light beams. I started climbing, but as my leg warmed it hurt so much more, it became hard to use. I climbed on. When I was at the top of the poles, there was a smooth stone surface, not as cold at everything else and right in front of the lights, which were now dots on a wall. I crawled towards the dots, slowly. I lifted my hand to each dot, which was blinding to look directly into, and pushed on them. They were rough around the edges, metal and jagged. I stood on my one good leg and felt around the wall, looking for a weak point to break through. As I put all my weight against the wall, it moved. It pushed forward, but still somehow attached to the wall, revealing a sun stained… everything. I fell. There wasn't anything to catch me, or grasp, and I hit the ground, which was covered in grass.
There was something under me though, and an unforgettable smell.

I pushed my body up, and looked around me. Blood. There was blood everywhere, and now, I was part of everywhere. On my hands, my newly noticed blue shirt, which was now an intensely dark shade of purple, and my black jeans, which stayed black. i saw I was barefoot, and knowing they were now covered in blood was a bit sickening to me. I was absolutely smeared on someone or something else’s blood, and the smell just kept irritating me… scratching the inside of my mind. It was torturous…
There was something shiny on the grass where I had landed. It was weirdly shaped, almost like the letter L. I grabbed it by the long end, not expecting it to be as heavy as it was. It was actually very heavy. It seemed to be made of metal, almost entirely, except for the short end, which was masked in a scale-esque design. Where the two ends met was a rotating piece, which spun and made a clicking sound. As curious as I was, I couldn’t stop myself from playing with it for quite a while. Under this, was a clicking thing, which clicked when pulled with a finger, also rotating the spinning device. It all seemed like a toy, and fit very well in my left hand. My right hand was sore, and wouldn’t hold it upright for more than a few seconds.
Then there was a sound behind me. I turned slowly; craning my whole body towards the direction the sound came from. There was smashed and splintered wood protruding from a portion of wood walling not far from where I was, and it shifted as I stared.
There was something there, something moving. I turned towards it with my entirety and sat back on my good leg, preparing. There was a board of wood sitting, or leaning I should say, on the fence closest to the protrusion which fell, revealing a… well I can’t actually identify it… it was the same color as my skin… and large. It was short, about to my knees, but it was probably big enough to have three of me inside of it. And… it was moving. Towards me!
My chest started hurting and my spine went cold, my skin turned bumpy as I starred at a mass of what seemed like human flesh moving towards me, oozing and inching. My body was frozen, chilled and stone.
I blinked. My body twitched, and I stood up, hardly without thinking, and took a few steps back, trying to think…
What was there to do? I was trapped, walled in, surrounded and being hunted…
My body was shaking, it felt heavy. I wanted to melt under my own weight, to shrivel up, but I couldn’t, I could not succumb. I felt something start to burn in my chest, start to grow, climb up my spine, and enter my brain. I have no other way to describe it other than it made me smile… as if I was insane… maybe I had gone insane. I regained my strength, more than what I had prior, even. My leg's pain became but a memory. I stood now, stronger, more visually adapt to what was happening. I now had the iron L in my right hand, ready to use it as a blunt weapon, when it slipped from my hand. I reached to grasp it again, reaching for the short end with the pattern on it.
My left hand grasped the short end before hitting the ground, wrapping my fingers around it, and having a finger slipping into the spot with the pull-back-clicker, pulling it back.
There was a short interval of sound, a click, and then my ears stopped working. The iron L was gone from my hands, as it flew up and back from my left hand, as I was now being blown backwards from the direction I was last facing. The silence was now replaced with a high-pitched humming and the smell of blood was replaced with fire and iron.
I flew back, hitting the wooden wall. I felt no pain, though. Only shock. The iron L was gone from view now, and I was helpless. There would be no mercy for me from this flesh… What?
I turned my head to where the flesh creature was, half expecting it to be running from whatever had just happened, and half expecting it to be nearly inches from me. It was neither. In fact, it wasn’t moving at all, except for the hole in it’s… back? Which oozed blood and puss. It was dead. Had I killed it? I didn’t have anything to make a hole that big… unless…
I looked around for the iron L, which resided mere feet from were I sat. I crawled to it, feeling blood start to drip off of me. I was covered in the flesh creature’s innards, which dripped from my elbows, fingertips, and chin. When I approached it, the iron L was smoking, as if it had exploded. Which, now connecting the events that had just occurred, it must have. I went to grab it, but burned my fingers on the smoking end. The blood that caked my fingers boiled on the surface, creating a sickly smell that wafted into my nostrils. I tried the shorter end with much more success, and held it close to my face, inspecting it closely. What could’ve done such damage other than this? And how?
My hearing had somewhat returned to me, as I could now hear the wind picking up, as the sun was shining onto the iron exploder and back into my eyes. It was beautiful, seeing the shine on something new…
I tried to stand, but my body had regained its sense of pain whilst I was admiring things, so I fell. Again. This time, I just lied there, in too much pain to move. Everything hurt this time. Not too bad, but bad enough to make it impossible to move without wincing in pain. The wind was calming… my senses dulled… and the world fell dark once more.
